Law enforcement across western New York was busy keeping motorists along the state’s highways safe by arresting four drunk drivers this weekend.

The Buffalo News posted a story highlighting the arrest of a 26-year-old man from Colden, New York, who was taken into custody early Saturday morning after veering off the road and colliding with a utility pole. Upon further examination, investigators were able to determine the man’s blood-alcohol content was two times the legal limit.

Hours later, a 22-year-old woman was arrested on similar charges after being involved in an auto accident in Grand Isle, New York. She was in possession of illegal narcotics as well as being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

A person was also arrested after being involved in a Buffalo Car Accident on the Scajaquada Expressway with a blood alcohol level that was three times the legal limit on Saturday morning. Another person was arrested, with the same level of intoxication, in the Town of Hanover at the corner of Routes 5 and 20.

The State Department of Justice shows that more than 20,000 individuals are arrested for driving drunk each year in New York.

The Personal Injury Attorneys with William Mattar Law Offices say drunk drivers are responsible for a large portion of motor vehicle accidents in western New York today and applaud the hard work of law enforcement to help eradicate the problem from our highways.
