At William Mattar law offices we want everyone to be safe when celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with friends and family. Please do not drink and drive. If your holiday plans involve consuming alcohol make a plan to get home safely.
Drinking and Driving is NOT OK!
In every state, it’s illegal to drive drunk, yet one person was killed in a drunk-driving crash every 45 minutes in the United States in 2020, according to the NHTSA.
According to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, the level of alcohol impairment depends on five conditions:
1. The amount of alcohol you drink
2. The amount of food you eat before or while you drink alcohol
3. The length of time you drink alcohol
4. Your body weight
5. Your gender
There is no quick method to become sober. The best method is to wait until your body absorbs the alcohol. The average rate that your body processes alcohol is approximately one drink per hour. If you plan on drinking, don’t drive. If you do drink, consider asking a sober friend to drive you to you to your final destination, call a taxi, a ride share service.
To help people celebrate smart on St. Patrick’s Day, William Mattar, P.C. will be giving away Uber Ride Discount Vouchers ($20.00 value) to the first eligible 1,000 people who register. This promotion will start at 12:01 PM (EST) on March 1, 2023, and end on March 16, 2023, at 12:01 PM (EST), or upon email distribution of 1,000 Uber Ride Vouchers (each with a $20.00 redemption value) to valid registrants, whichever occurs first.
