Niagara Falls Teen Suffers Injuries from Taxi Accident

A teenage girl from Niagara Falls, New York, was seriously injured in an accident caused by the intoxicated cab driver. An article from The Buffalo News said the crash occurred Wednesday morning, at around 2:35 a.m., near the intersection of 11^th Street and Ontario Avenue.

A spokesperson for the Niagara Falls Police Department, Captain Salvatore Pino, stated the cab driver was traveling on 11^th Street with the 17-year-old passenger in the rear when he veered off the road and collided with a utility pole. The vehicle was split in two and rolled several times before hitting another pole and coming to rest in the front yard of a residence.

Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt at the time of the Niagara Falls Car Accident. The teenage passenger was ejected from the force of the collision. Both were rushed to a local hospital for treatment on their car accident injuries, and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

Officers say the driver could be facing more charges at the conclusion of a full investigation into the incident.
