Oct. 17, 2012 A 20-year-old man from Derby, New York, has died after being involved in an accident with a tractor-trailer several weeks ago. An article from WIVB 4 News said the crash happened on the afternoon of Oct. 2, at the intersection of Route 20 and South Creek Road, just outside Buffalo. Officers with the Eden Police Department reported the victim had entered the intersection as he was traveling along South Creek Road, when a tractor-trailer, driven by a 60-year-old man, ran a red light and struck the sedan. The impact of the Truck Accident pushed the vehicle roughly 60 yards up the highway, trapping the victim inside the wreckage. Rescue crews had to cut the man out of the vehicle before flying him to a local hospital for treatment. The victim remained in critical condition until yesterday morning when he died from complications associated with his injuries. Law enforcement officials stated they are continuing to look into possible contributing factors which may have played a role in the accident, such as distraction, speed, and impairment. Charges could be filed against the truck driver at the conclusion of their full investigation into the incident. The Car Accident Lawyers with William Mattar Law Offices can sympathize with the pain of losing a loved one and would like to send their condolences to the family and friends of the man who tragically died.
