Buffalo Motorcycle Accident Leaves Two Riders Injured

Sept. 12, 2012 A motorcycle accident in Buffalo last week left two people seriously injured and another person facing charges in connection to the crash. WIVB 4 News reports the incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on Friday morning, at the intersection of Broadway and Bailey Avenue. Reports indicate a 56-year-old motorcyclist carrying a 47-year-old female passenger was heading north along Bailey. A 23-year-old operating a southbound vehicle attempted a left turn onto Broadway in front of the bike. The motorcyclist did not have time to stop and the two vehicles collided, throwing both motorcycle passengers from the machine. Both seriously injured victims were rushed to a local hospital following the Buffalo motorcycle accident, where they remain in fair condition. Studies have found that a majority of multi-vehicle motorcycle accidents occur when a vehicle turns in front of a motorcycle. This leaves many riders asking what they can do to prevent these accidents. Utilizing a motorcycle’s headlights at all times and wearing light colored or reflective clothing is the best way to improve visibility to other vehicles while riding. The Buffalo Car Accident Lawyers with the William Mattar Law Offices say you may not always be able to avoid an accident if it is caused by another person’s negligence. If you are injured through no fault of your own, it is important to have a qualified motorcycle accident lawyer by your side to help protect your legal rights.
