July 12, 2013 A Rochester Truck Accident earlier this week claimed the life of one driver and left another seriously injured. Reports indicate that the crash happened at around 1p.m. on Monday, July 8, at the Route 490 and 590 interchange. According to an article from Your News Now, a tanker truck was exiting Route 490 on an elevated ramp when the driver suddenly lost control of his vehicle and rolled over a concrete barrier to the highway below. The falling truck came crashing down upon a box truck traveling southbound along Route 590. The driver of the box truck was killed, while the driver of the tanker sustained a dislocated hip, along with a broken arm and knee. The surviving victim was rushed to a local trauma center for treatment. Investigators with the New York State Police are continuing to look into what contributing factors may have played a role in the crash. The crash highlights how dangerous negligence behind the wheel of a commercial truck can be. The Personal Injury Lawyers with William Mattar Law Offices explain that laws are in place to ensure drivers of these vehicles drive safely, and the firm is here to help if you have been injured as the result of an accident that was a truck driver’s fault.
