Victim Suffers Buffalo Motorcycle Accident Injuries in Crash

June 12, 2013 A 31-year-old man from Clarence suffered serious Motorcycle Accident Injuries after a recent two-vehicle collision. Reports indicate the crash occurred just after 2 a.m. on Friday, May 31, at the corner of Main Street and Spindrift Drive in the Amherst neighborhood. According to an article from WKBW 7 News, the victim was driving a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle east along Main Street. As he passed through the intersection with Spindrift Drive, a 2002 Lincoln LS driven by a 48-year-old man from Buffalo failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist and the two vehicles collided. The impact of the crash left the motorcyclist with a severe injury to his leg. Shortly thereafter, paramedics transported him to a local hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police questioned the driver of the Lincoln and determined he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was subsequently place under arrest and later charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), vehicular assault, and failure to yield right of way. The Amherst Police Department stated their investigation into the incident is ongoing and more charges may be filed against the driver of the Lincoln at a later time.
