Amherst Motorcycle Accident Leaves Two People Seriously Injured

April 1, 2013 Two people were seriously injured after an Amherst Motorcycle Accident this weekend. An article published by The Buffalo News explained the crash happened at around 4 p.m. on Saturday along Maple Road, near the Boulevard Mall. Reports indicate a 25-year-old man was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Maple Road. As he began to approach the Boulevard Mall though, a vehicle traveling west on Maple was attempting to turn left into the mall parking lot. The vehicle failed to recognize the motorcyclist’s right-of-way and turned in front of the bike. The biker did not have time to stop and the two vehicles collided. The impact of the collision cut the motorcycle in half and threw the biker from the machine. Rescue crews were able to stabilize the victim and transport him to a local trauma center, where he remains in critical condition. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash sustained injuries as well and was treated and released the same day the collision occurred. The Amherst Police Department states that the crash remains under investigation.
