The Greater Niagara Frontier Council (GNFC) Boy Scouts of America presented William Mattar, founder of the personal injury law firm William Mattar, P.C., with a special plaque of recognition last Wednesday. Scout executive Russell Etzenhouser delivered the "On My Honor" plaque to acknowledge Mattar for his significant support and commitment to the GNFC.
As a former Boy Scout and current Eagle Scout, along with his strong beliefs in the importance of community outreach, Mattar is still actively involved with the Scouting program through leadership and fundraising. Throughout the course of his adult membership, he has volunteered at both the Troop and Council level and received the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to youth. For over ten years, Mattar has served as chairman of the GNFC annual fundraising dinner.
Four districts-- Buffalo, Onondaga, Red Jacket, and Polaris-- make up the GNFC. Last year, they recorded over 62,800 hours of community service, and all funds go toward Western New York programs and facilities.
