William Mattar Launches Sixth Annual In The Heat Check The Seat Safety Awareness Campaign William Mattar law offices are pleased to announce the launch of its sixth annual In the Heat Check the Seat campaign to raise awareness of heatstroke-related deaths that can occur when children and pets are left in hot motor vehicles. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, a car’s temperature can rise 20 degrees in just 10 minutes, leaving occupants inside a hot vehicle unable to cool down.  William Mattar created this safety campaign to remind parents, caregivers, and pet owners to remember to check the backseat for small children and pets before exiting a vehicle to help avoid a potential tragedy. Children and pets should never be left unattended in a motor vehicle, even if it is only for a few minutes. “Most people have busy lives, and drivers can easily become distracted as they head out on the road and forget that their child or pet is in the car. Unfortunately, leaving a child or dog in a hot vehicle can be incredibly dangerous. A vehicle can heat up to very high temperatures within minutes, and leaving a window cracked may not help. We started the In the Heat Check the Seat campaign to spread awareness about heatstroke-related tragedies and help prevent them from happening in our community,” said William Mattar. William Mattar reminds the community to never leave a child or pet behind in a motor vehicle, especially on a hot day. Together we can help keep our most vulnerable family members safe.
