The New York Department of Motor Vehicles reports that 307,550 motor vehicle accidents occurred in 2011, resulting in 1,077 fatalities and 128,036 people being seriously injured. The Car Accident Lawyers with William Mattar Law Offices point out that majority of these collisions occurred at road crossings. Furthermore, roughly 13 percent were the result of motorists failing to yield the right-of-way to another vehicle

One such crash earlier this month was responsible for leaving a 39-year-old woman in critical condition. A story from WGRZ 2 News stated the incident happened on Oct. 5, at approximately 5:45 p.m. at the corner of Fillmore Avenue and Clinton Street in Buffalo.

The woman was driving her vehicle towards the intersection and had a green light. As she attempted to pass through the crossing, a large commercial van ran a red light halting traffic along the other road and collided with the side of the victim’s vehicle.

The woman was seriously injured as a result of the impact and was rushed to a local hospital.

William Mattar’s team of Personal Injury Lawyers is aware of how difficult overcoming injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident can be. That is why the firm is here to help those who have been hurt in a crash that was the result of another motorist’s negligence.
