Albany Bicycle Accident Lawsuit Holds County Responsible

Reports indicate the 45-year-old victim was riding his bike along the highway when a truck being driven by an alleged intoxicated 39-year-old man running from the local police suddenly struck the cyclist from behind. The victim died a short time later, while the man responsible for the crash was charged with manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, and parole violations.

The victim’s family filed a lawsuit claiming the county’s law enforcement was negligent and directly responsible for their loss by engaging in the chase and putting the innocent victim in harm’s way. Officials from the county are staunchly standing by the argument that the crash was the fault of the motorist and not the police.
