Yousef Taha was born in Chicago, Illinois, then raised in Rochester, New York. Now serving clients from our Syracuse, New York location, he has proudly spent his entire career advocating on behalf of his clients. He was inspired by his parents to become an attorney as he says, “they instilled in me the importance of helping others and giving back to my community along with always being a voice of reason and integrity.”
His education has taken him across the state and back again. Yousef graduated Cum Laude from St. John’s University in Queens, NY, with a B.A. in History prior to attending the University of Buffalo Law School, where he enjoyed his time as Managing Editor of the Buffalo Public Interest Law Journal. He was admitted to practice law in NY in 2014 and since admission, has practiced criminal law in both public and private capacity including the Monroe County Public Defender’s Office, the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Western District of New York, and with a private practice law firm. As part of the William Mattar attorney team, Yousef continues to fight for justice as he helps clients navigate through their auto injury cases.
Each attorney seems to have an aspect of the law they are passionate about. He says, “I am most passionate about trying to solve problems that clients may be facing as well as advocating on their behalf. Using my legal skills to make a lasting contribution for those who need someone to advocate for them aligns with the firm’s values of making a difference. The most rewarding part of my career is being able to provide relief to our clients as well as being their advocate to get the justice and compensation they need and deserve.”
As dedicated as Yousef is to helping clients, he makes sure to create a healthy work and home life balance. He cherishes spending time with his fiancé and family and enjoys working out at the gym and reading both fiction and nonfiction books. He takes advantage of what nature has to offer by hiking the many state parks in the Western and Central New York regions. He is also fluent in Arabic.
