New York Truck Accident Seriously Injures Driver

Feb. 25, 2013 The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that transportation accidents were the leading cause of on-the-job fatalities last year, accounting for the loss of more than 700 lives. Many of these accidents involved drivers of large commercial vehicles, like tractor-trailers. Recently, one such Truck Accident was responsible for leaving a driver injured. According to a story from the Little Falls Times, the crash happened at around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, along the New York State Thruway. Reports indicate the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle between the Herkimer and Little Falls exits just outside the town of German Flatts. The tractor-trailer then veered off the road, where it then rolled down an embankment running along the side of the highway. The impact of the crash left the truck driver suffering from back injuries. He was transported to a local trauma center in order to receive treatment. A serious tractor-trailer accident could potentially leave a truck driver facing lost wages, medical bills, and pain and suffering. This is just one reason why the Albany Personal Injury Lawyers with William Mattar Law Offices would encourage any trucker who has been involved in an accident while working to discuss their legal rights with a qualified attorney before accepting an insurance or workers’ compensation settlement.
