Rochester Pedestrian Accident Leaves Victim Hospitalized

August 28, 2013 Drinking and driving presents a serious hazard to all who are near an intoxicated motorist. The Pedestrian Accident Lawyers with William Mattar Law Offices say one drunken driver’s actions resulted in a collision that left a pedestrian injured. An article published in the Post-Bulletin explains the incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on Aug. 17, along 16th Street Southwest in Rochester, New York. Reports indicate that the 20-year-old driver was under the influence of alcohol when he struck the 60-year-old pedestrian. Instead of stopping and rendering aid to the victim, he fled the scene. He was apprehended a short distance away on South Broadway. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and could face more charges pending the outcome of a full investigation into the accident. Meanwhile, rescue crews transported the injured pedestrian to a local trauma center where he was hospitalized and listed in fair condition. William Mattar Law Offices’ team of Rochester Personal Injury Lawyers recognizes the dangers posed by drunk drivers highlighted by the recent crash. That is why the firm asks motorists to not get behind the wheel of a vehicle after consuming any amount of alcohol. Instead, utilize a designated driver, cab, or loved one to get you home safely if you have had too much to drink while away from home. Doing so could save lives.
