Woman Pleads Guilty to Causing Fatal Buffalo Car Accident

March 11, 2013 A 25-year-old Brant, New York, woman recently pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree vehicular manslaughter after being found responsible for a fatal Buffalo Car Accident. A story released by The Leader explains the charges were filed after investigators determined drugs and alcohol were a factor in causing the collision. Reports from the Erie County Sheriff’s Department indicate the crash happened just after 9 a.m. along Southwestern Boulevard, just south of Buffalo. The woman was behind the wheel of a 2003 Ford Explorer when she crossed over the center line and collided with a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am. The impact of the collision was so severe; the Grand Am was split in half. The 31-year-old driver of the Grand Am was seriously injured and was taken to a trauma center. The child in a car seat in the rear of the vehicle did not survive. Testing later determined the woman had alcohol, cocaine, and marijuana in her system at the time of the accident.
