Gift Cards Entice GM Vehicle Owners to Schedule Ignition Recall Repairs

During the past several months, General Motors (GM) has recalled faulty equipment installed on millions of its vehicles. Now, the company is struggling to get the necessary repairs made, and they are using a new and innovative way to get consumers involved in the process. The recall issues arose after numerous reports were made of drivers losing control of GM vehicles and crashing. Further investigation determined the ignition switches on the vehicles could turn to the off position while vehicles are in motion, causing drivers to be unable to steer and deactivating the airbags. WIVB 4 News reports that this forced the company to take action. Now the company is struggling to get owners to bring their vehicles in for repairs, which puts many drivers at risk of  GM ignition recall accidents. That’s why the company is offering $25 gift cards to owners who bring their cars, trucks, or SUVs in for necessary repairs. While some owners in the Buffalo area would be happy to bring their vehicles in for repairs, they say the dealerships and service centers  have wait times on parts and appointments that can be as long as several months. So what should you do if you have a vehicle that’s been affected by the GM recalls? The Buffalo car accident lawyers with William Mattar Law Offices suggest scheduling an appointment for repairs as soon as possible.
