Buffalo Sanitation Worker Injured after Auto Collision

Sept. 10, 2012 Thousands of Americans work among traffic on bustling city streets each day. When your work environment is in close proximity to fast moving vehicles, the risk of being injured in an auto accident can increase greatly. These risks recently caught up with a 39-year-old man from Buffalo, who was injured after being struck by a car while working for the city’s sanitation department. WGRZ 2 News reports the accident happened Tuesday at around 7 a.m., near the intersection of Fillmore Avenue and French Street. One of the victim’s co-workers stated the man was attempting to cross the street when a vehicle believed to be traveling at more than double the speed limit struck him. As a result of the collision, the victim suffered a concussion, broken leg, and fractured wrist. The victim’s family says the Buffalo Car Accident will affect the man’s ability to support his family, as he is expected to be hospitalized for the next six months. As a result, he will be unable to fulfill certain obligations as an Army reservist, which gives the family a supplemental income.
