Nov. 7, 2012 A 70-year-old woman, who has been hospitalized since she was ejected from a vehicle in a car accident last month, died yesterday as a result of injuries. The Niagara Gazette reports that the crash happened on Oct. 18 just before 6 p.m. on Saunders Settlement Road, just outside of Buffalo. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Department says a 64-year-old man from Lockport, New York, was driving a vehicle along Saunders Settlement Road, carrying the victim and a 60-year-old woman as passengers. The driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the oncoming lane of traffic, and drove into a ditch. The impact caused the vehicle to roll several times before coming to rest. The 70-year-old victim was thrown from the vehicle. All three were rushed to an Erie County hospital for treatment to a plethora of wounds sustained in the Buffalo Car Accident. The driver suffered several internal injuries, while the female front seat passenger sustained an injury to her arm. Research has shown that almost 25 percent of all fatal motor vehicle accidents involve ejection from the vehicle. That is why the Buffalo Car Accident Attorneys with William Mattar Law Offices would like to remind motorists to buckle up their seat belts every time they get into a vehicle. Doing so can help prevent injury or death in the event of an accident.
